Georgetown College came roaring out of the gates and never looked back Tuesday night.
The Tigers claimed their second-ever NAIA Division I men's national championship with a rousing 88-62 win over Southwestern Assemblies of God University.
GC lit up the scoreboard, crashed the glass and featured five different players in double figure scoring — Monty Wilson's 23 points, Deondre McWhorter's 14 points, Vic Moses' 14 points, Garel Craig's 14 points and Allan Thomas' 12 points.
Georgetown College outrebounded the Lions 61-31, and shot 58.2 percent (32-of-55) from the field, while holding SAGU to just 28 percent shooting from the floor (24-84).
Moses, Thomas and Montavious Marc all grabbed double-digit rebounds for the Tigers, with 13, 13 and 12 respectively.
