New plan for Kroger center approved

Posted: Saturday, June 11, 2011 5:00 am

The Georgetown-Scott County Planning Commission approved an amended plan for the Kroger shopping center on the U.S. 460 bypass that generated controversy among some Bradford Place residents earlier this year, but not without some discussion about how the amendment came to be.

In March the planning commission approved a preliminary development plan for the center, which included a connection to Grisham Drive in Bradford Place subdivision. Several Grisham Drive residents protested the plan, saying traffic would increase along their street because of shoppers using Grisham to get to Kroger.
