There were plenty of floats, fireworks and fun throughout the county Thursday, as Fourth of July celebrations took place.
Community members lined the streets of Georgetown Thursday morning for the annual Scott County Kiwanis Club Fourth of July parade. This year’s theme was “Celebrating America.” Former County Judge-Executive George Lusby was honored as the parade’s grand marshal.
In the afternoon, Stamping Ground residents took to the streets for its annual ‘Ol Glory Celebration. Retiring Stamping Ground Fire Chief Chuck Helms was the grand marshal for the event. The celebration continued after the parade in Buffalo Springs Park for a community cookout.
