A phone call from Texas law enforcement led Georgetown Police to charge a 20-year-old Georgetown man with inappropriate messaging of a 15-year-old.
Officer White received a phone call from Detective Chris Tristan from the Plainview Police Department in Texas about Kaden Coleman inappropriately messaging the Texas teen, according to the citation. The Plainview report said Coleman and the teen were talking on Snapchat when he began asking for pictures of the girl.
Tristan’s report stated Coleman asked for pictures of the 15-year-old’s “belly behind ur undies.” The teen said she never sent Coleman the pictures and showed a screenshot to Tristan and he was able to track Coleman’s location during the conversation to Georgetown.
The teen’s older sister added Coleman on Snapchat after learning of the 15-year-old’s interaction and asked him how old he was, according to the citation. Coleman said he was 17, but when she asked is birthday and he replied, it proved he was 19. Screenshots were taken of all the conversations by Tristan.
When Georgetown Police brought Coleman in, he admitted to the use of the 15-year-old’s pictures for pornographic matter.
Coleman’s phone was confiscated and a search warrant will be obtained to recover material related to the case.
The citation stated Coleman has been blocked from Snapchat. He was charged with prohibited use of an electronic communication system to procure a minor/peace officer re: sex offenses, distribution of obscene matter, possess/view matter portray sexual performance by a minor.
