A Paris man was killed after his motorcycle collided with an SUV on Paris Pike on Monday.

A Paris man, who was the father of a one-year-old child, died Monday when his motorcycle collided with an SUV on Paris Pike.

Gregory Sharon, 26, who worked at the Dan Cummins automobile dealership in Paris, was pronounced dead at 2:07 p.m. at Georgetown Community Hospital by Scott County Coroner John Goble. Sharon was married with a young child.

Police reports state a 2017 GMC Denali driven by Sabrina Schalnus was waiting at a stop sign at Crumbaugh and U.S. 460 (Paris Pike) at about 1:30 p.m. Schalnus was waiting for traffic moving towards Georgetown to pass when she pulled out, turning left towards Georgetown.

Sharon was driving a 2011 BMW motorcycle and was heading east towards Paris when he struck the Denali.

Schalnus told police she did not see the motorcycle.

Sharon was thrown from the motorcycle, police reports state.

The Georgetown-Scott County Collision Investigation Unit was called to the scene to recreate the accident, closing the highway for several hours.
