Running  for a cause

Many gathered for the third annual Georgetown Cancer Center Colors of Cancer 5K on Georgetown College’s campus on Saturday. Runners were doused in color by different stations setup along the route.

A total of 187 participated in the color run, according to the 5K’s signup website. Proceeds from the 5K helps provide assistance to patients who are having financial struggles during cancer treatment.

The overall top male finisher was Nathanael Turner, 14, from Somerset with a time of 18:26.2. A. Howell, 12, from Lexington was the overall top female finisher with a time of 23:56.4, according to the website.
