The victim of the workplace accident at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky Tuesday is Antwain Brifford, 33, of Pikeville, said Scott County Coroner John Goble.
Brifford died while hooking up a trailer to his truck.
“OSHA and the coroner’s Office investigated and determined he did not properly engage his air brake and the truck backed into him,” Goble said.
Brifford was pinned between the trailer and the van. He was alone at the time of the accident and was discovered by another driver.
Brifford had been employed with Ryder for three months, the coroner said.
He is survived by three young children and will be buried in Alabama.
