Investigators from the Georgetown Police Department have been following leads in Lexington related to a shots fired call on Dorchester Drive Wednesday morning.
About 3 a.m. Wednesday, suspects were surprised while apparently attempting to steal a vehicle. A Georgetown man heard a loud radio playing and stepped outside when he saw a pair allegedly breaking into his neighbor’s car, police said.
When the suspects realized they were being watched, the pair exited and fled the area. At some point multiple shots were fired with one round striking the man’s house and another entering his living room. The Georgetown man was not injured.
While investigating, police discovered a vehicle in the area which had been stolen earlier in the evening from Harmony Ridge area. A gun was also discovered near the scene and is being processed, police said.
Police believe the two instances are connected.
