Investigators from the Georgetown Police Department have been following leads in Lexington related to a shots fired call on Dorchester Drive Wednesday morning.

About 3 a.m. Wednesday, suspects were surprised while apparently attempting to steal a vehicle. A Georgetown man heard a loud radio playing and stepped outside when he saw a pair allegedly breaking into his neighbor’s car, police said.

While investigating, police discovered a vehicle in the area which had been stolen earlier in the evening from Harmony Ridge area. A gun was also discovered near the scene and is being processed, police said.

Police believe the two instances are connected.
