Timothy Crabtree, once expected to be the prosecution's star witness in the case against David Dressman, recanted his previous testimony Tuesday, telling jurors he lied when he said Dressman had confessed to killing Diane Snellen.

From the witness stand during the sixth day of Dressman's trial, Crabtree admitted he had made up Dressman's confession as a way to earn a plea deal from prosecutors that granted him a six-year prison sentence.
